QUALITY GROWTH
Fund Renewal 2020

North Platte needs your YES vote on Issues 1 & 2
THIS IS NOT A NEW TAX
North Platte first adopted LB840 at a February 2001 special election for 2001-2011, was renewed by North Platte voters in November 2010 for the timeline of 2011-2021, and is up for renewal again November 3, 2020 for 2021-2031.

KEEPING NORTH PLATTE COMPETITIVE
This fund keeps North Platte competitive for economic development projects, and is utilized for a variety of projects and quality job creation. Projects can include loans, grants, performance-based loans, infrastructure projects, studies, consultants, workforce housing, marketing, promotion, job training, real estate acquisition, equipment and other eligible uses defined in the plan and statute.
This fund is a highly recognized economic development tool and one of the first questions a business prospect will ask a community when seeking information. In fact, in Nebraska there are 74 communities with a voter approved LB840 economic development program. 73 of the 74 communities are funded through some type of local sales or general fund revenue tax.

PLAN FUNDING
The plan funding is based on a formula of economic growth creating more sales tax revenue, so existing resources are not encumbered. It allows for no more than $650,000 annually. It averaged $538,165 the past 10 years. Only 4 times in the 20 years of its existence did it reach the maximum level.
